Compared to any other location, Canada is seeing the biggest uptick in the number of MBA applications. There are good reasons for this trend:
CANADA IS A GOOD OPTION FOR PURSUING AN MBA BECAUSE:
Investment is low: Tuition cost and living expenses are relatively lower compared to US and Europe. For eg. an MBA from Rotman (one of Canada’s top ranked program) costs USD 85K compared to Ross school of Business (one of US’s top ranked program), which costs around USD 135K. These differences are exacerbated if you consider the cost of living in cities such as New York and Los Angeles.
Favourable immigration norms; more culturally aligned to Asians: Getting a PR is relatively easier. Also, you don’t need to be an “aggressive” networker, like in US to get jobs.
Flexibility in terms of application cycles : Several Canadian programs offer the flexibility of applying for January or September intakes (unlike most US schools, where applicants need to be submitted for September intake); further, programs such as Schulich Business School offer an India-Canada option of pursuing an MBA (which further lowers your cost).
