Dr DY Patil University, Mumbai offers an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science. It is a three year course degree. The fee structure is appro ximately around ₹55000  for each semester. The eligibility criteria for the course is 10+2 in science stream with minimum percentage of 50%. Past achievement or participation in sports events or tournaments is an added advantage for any intending candidate. The intake capacity is 30 students per batch .

The course is a first fitness science degree program that is being offered in a UGC recognised Institute .The Institute is also graded A by  NAAC and has an on - campus sports Academy . The Institute also provides Internship in various sectors such as  sports academies and fitness centres. The fitness course is taught by doctors , physiotherapists, clinical and sports nutritionists, sports psychologists.

There are Internships available both in-house and outhouse. For in-house internship ,the Institute provides internships at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy and Dr.DY Patil  hospital.
For outhouse internships:  Armed Forces Sports Medical Centre, Pune ; SPAARC Institute ,Mumbai.

Manipal University offers B.Sc degree in Exercise and Sports Science. It is a four year degree and one semester of externship. The fee structure is ₹5,25000 for the whole course.  The eligibility for the course is  10+2 in science stream with minimum percentage of 50%. The Institute is also UGC recognized and NAAC accreditation of A.

The course involves preparing the graduates with skills  and abilities to work in sports medicines ,prof f e ss ional sports organization,etc. Course focuses on Exercise and Sports physiology, movement analysis, training and  conditioning.

Considering all these facts ,both Dr DY Patil University and Manipal University are institutes with the best and well equipped facilities. Both are UGC and NAAC accredited. When it comes to fee structure ,Dr.DY Patil University offers a much lower fee structure for the course and also provides good and well equipped sports academy for the students. So if you are cost conscious about the fee structure ,then I suggest you go for the DY patil University as it provides all the best facilities at a much lower fees than Manipal University. Not only that ,the DY Patil university also has attached Sports academy and Hospital which will surely provide more exposure for the students.

Exercise and Sports Sciences is an interdisciplinary field that explores the complex nature of human movement and how the body responds to acute and chronic physical exertion such as general fitness regimens, recreational activities and elite sports. Exercise science encompasses many disciplines like exercise physiology, biomechanics, sport and exercise psychology, strength and conditioning, nutrition, athletic training and injury prevention.

This course is available both at Manipal university and DY Patil university.

DY Patil:-

1) It is located in Pune, Maharashtra and is an NAAC(national council of accreditation) accredited university graded A . This makes the degree of the university very high in value.

2) It offers three year program for bsc in sports and exercise science. This means that the university conducts exams for 6 semesters.

3)It has an on campus sports and exercise academy which caters to the need of the students in the institute.

4)It offers 3 compulsory internships for its stiy pursuing this course with reputed sports organisations.

5)It has only 30 seats for the course in a particular year in a particular batch.

6)The fees of the 3 year course is about 4 lakh of rupees.

Manipal university:-

1) It is located in Manipal , Karnataka and is affiliated to European College of sports sciences in India.

2)It offers four year course in bachelor of sports and exercise science program.This means that the university has eight semesters of education.

3)It has very reputed and state of art facilities in form of high speed motion cameras and sensors which give education of very high quality.

4)It offers only one compulsory internship with  reputed sports organisations and a compulsory project in 8th semester.

5)It charges 5,25,000 rupees for 4 year course of excercise science.

Scope of Sports and excercise science:-

Graduates can work in Sports medicine centers, professional sports organizations, corporate fitness/wellness industries and occupational health as

* Trainers/ Health Fitness Specialists/ Exercise Specialists

So in my view both universities are head on but Manipal is costly for a student.
