DU cut offs are released for every Category, Reserved (BC/ST/SC/OBC) and for Unreserved (UR). The condition is that there must be vacant seats in each category. Now we all have seen in last cut off i.e. 6th Cut off, all the General or Unreserved seats were full in most of the colleges and only seats that are vacant, are for Reserved categories.

So, it all depends upon the filling of seats. And generally it happens most of the General Category seats are filled during 1st to 5th cut offs.

But yeah, if you are under some category then if is advantageous to you. The seats are still there in the Reserved Categories which will be shown by 7th cut off.
