As a former student who has answered JEE Mains, the best advice i can give you is the following:
1) Comparing yourself to the level where your friends are at is not going to help. Its best that you focus on your achievements and do well. I understand the fear of losing but you got to know that at the end your struggle and hardwork will pay off. Taking stress due to your friends being ahend will just make you more scared. It is not how fast you are, it is about what you learn on the way.
2) During the day study in intervals. What i mean is study for about 2 hours and take a break of 30 minutes. This way you do not over clog yourself and lose intrest. Do some leisure activity in your 30 minutes. I for one always listened to music and it calmed me down and help me cope with my fear.
3) And last thing i want to say is, If you do not get into a decent college, just remember there is something else for you out there. If you have worked hard, you will definetly get what you worked for and I strongly believe in that.
Good Luck and hope i could be of some help.
