Talking specifically about Dept. Of Civil Engineering, lemme elaborate my experience in points-

1.Regular lectures (so u have a good command over the subject from the beginning of the semester till the end)
2.Faculty makes sure to clear the concepts in the class and also helps solving doubts you have.
3. You have a golden opportunity to not only be member of the IEI( The Institution of Engineers, India) but also international organization.
4. Guest lectures by the field experts are held.
5. Good internship opportunities.
6. Value added courses are conducted by renowned organisations such as Dr Fixit Institute, IOV( India) etc.
7. Provides good placement.
8. Great environment to study and posses a huge library with variety of books.

Keeping all these points in mind I can assure you that Dr D Y Patil Pimpri, is much better choice than Akurdi .
