Electrical Engineers are much in demand in India. In recent years, from house to companies everywhere there is a necessity of electricity to function, offering numerous opportunities to electrical engineers.


These engineers can work in atomic power plants, hydel or thermal power plants. Job opportunities are ample in both private and public sectors like railways, civil aviation, electricity board, and utility companies, electrical design, and consultancy firms and all types of manufacturing industries.


After getting a degree in electrical engineering, they can also go into the teaching field or join a research lab. Teaching career is also rewarding, with attractive remuneration packages.


Companies like ABB, Bajaj International Private Ltd, Crompton Greaves Limited, Siemens Ltd, Reliance Power Ltd, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Coal India Limited (CIL), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Centre for Electronics Design and Technology and Wipro Lighting are the biggest employers hiring Electrical Engineers.


A Graduate in EEE can go for Diverse fields whether it is PSU Job, Core Sectors like Construction & Steel, IT Industry, Consultancy/Finance Job, Electronics Design and a myriad of Profiles like Business Development Associates, Content Development Manager, etc.


You can also appear for PSUs like AIRPORT Authority of INDIA where Electrical & Electronics Students are allowed along with ECE students for the post of Junior Executive(Electronics). That means if you are only BE/Btech in Electrical Engineering You are not Eligible to Fill the Form unless you are BE/Btech in ECE, EEE.

Well, electrical engineering is one of the oldest and core branches of engineering and this branch is offered in almost all prestigious engineering colleges including NITs and IITs. If we go by definition, electrical engineering is a technical discipline concerned with the study, design and application of equipment, devices and systems which use electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.


The average salary for an Electrical Engineer is Rs 350,084 per year. Experience strongly influences pay for this job.


This branch has lot of scope and is full of job opportunities in the near future.
