the dual nature of waves has remained a mystery for centuries .

first newton suggests that light is made up of particles and then huygens suggested that light is of wave particle and latter his fact was proved by double split experiment and then einstein again prove that light is of particle nature by his famous explanation of photoelectric effect 

thus light has got both nature . when light travels it behaves like a wave and when it interacts with a particle it behaves like a particle and applies force on it

thus EM waves has both wave like and particle like nature
