First year is mainly same for all branches. In first year, students have to study subjects from all other branches as well for example, Mechanics, basic Electrical and Electronics etc. Less number of core subjects will be there in first year in any branch of Engineering. Mostly the core concepts start second year onwards. This is actually AICTE Curriculum. All the listed subject divided into two semesters.
