The major recommendation of NEP 2020  for School Education are:

• In this system, there will be 12 years of Schooling with 3 years of Anganwadi/Pre-Schooling.
• The new system will have four stages namely Foundational Stage (three years of Anganwadi or pre-school followed by classes 1-2), Preparatory Stage (classes 3-5), Middle Stage (classes 6-8) and Secondary Stage (classes 9-12)
• No separation between the Science, Arts and Commerce stream.
• To build Internship and Vocation training courses from class 8.

Under the NEP 2020 there are following recommendations highlighted by Indian Government for school education :-

**It aims 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in school education by the year 2030.

**NEP 2020 promotes Open schooling system by bringing 2 crore out of school children back into the main stream through recognized open schools.

**The current 10+2 system to be replaced by a new 5+3+3+4 structure corresponding to ages 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14-18 years respectively.

**The new system will have 12 years of schooling with three years of Anganwadi/ pre schooling.

**mother tongue/ regional language to be taught till class 5th at least. No language will be imposed on any student.
