Yes, there are two types of EWS Certificate. If your state has changed the eligibility criteria for EWS, then the state certificate would be different from the central certificate. In that case, if you apply in your state under EWS reservation, then you have to produce the state certificate and in the case for central govt, the central EWS certificate will be required.

If you are applying for the state level colleges, then state ews will be fine, for the central colleges, you need a valid central ews. You can get both of them in your respective city/town.
