NIT admissions require a general rank of between 30000 and 40000. If you obtain that, you will be safe. And you might be able to get NITs up to 40000 in some way on lower cutoff branches like chemical or civil. As a result, the EWS quota will see a 10% increase in seats. The EWS quota usually includes roughly 80 to 90% of candidates, therefore the cutoff won't be much lower. The cutoff percentile must be nearly around percentile 78-80 for EWS general. It would reach atleast upto 35K. So there's that. It was only a guess on my part.
