Total Marks: The GATE examination for Agricultural Engineering is out of 100 marks.

Question Types: The paper generally includes both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type Questions (NATs).

Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam may vary from year to year, but it is usually around 65 questions.
Marking Scheme:
- For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
- For 2-mark MCQs, 2/3 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
- There is no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Sections: The paper may have two sections: General Aptitude and Core Subject (Agricultural Engineering). General Aptitude section is common for all GATE papers and includes questions on verbal and numerical ability.
Core Subject Syllabus: The Agricultural Engineering paper will cover topics related to soil and water conservation, irrigation and drainage, farm machinery, agricultural processing, renewable energy in agriculture, etc. The syllabus includes both engineering and agricultural science topics related to agricultural practices and technology.
