Hello Aspirant,
I hope that you are doing well.
Both political philosophy and political science are interconnected and complementary. However, there is some ambiguity about their interaction. Political theory, according to one definition, is a broad word or main area that encompasses both political science and political philosophy. The second viewpoint asserts that Political Science is a broader field that, in addition to its empirical components, includes political philosophy and theory. This viewpoint is shared by the majority of Indian and Asian colleges. The third point of view advocates for a value-free Political Science that has no ties to unprovable ideals or political ideologies. Control phenomena are studied in political science. Political Science, in Catlin's opinion, is concerned with means, whereas political philosophy is concerned with ends, and hence both can be grouped under political theory. In any political study, the methods and ends must always be considered together.
