A light ray is the simplified concept about how the light travels.  While light can have wave-like properties, it has many practical situations in which it moves in straight lines. This is what people call as light rays. The direction in which the energy flows of light is expressed through a light ray; that is it shows how light energy moves along from a source to any other point. In a uniform medium (like air or a vacuum), light rays travel in straight lines. Light rays are mostly drawn as straight lines with arrows pointing towards the direction of light propagation.
Reflection: When the light ray hits a surface and bounces back is known as reflection. Angle of incidence is the angle in which the light hits the surface and angle of reflection in which it bounces back are equal.
Refraction: When light travels from one medium into another (for example from air into water), it bends. This bending is known as refraction. This bending is determined by properties of the two media in question.
Optical Instruments: The behavior of rays of light helps us comprehend how lenses, mirrors and prisms work. Since we can trace the paths which light takes through these devices, we can predict how an image will be formed in them. Refraction of light

Hi,

The light traveling in any one direction in a straight line is called light ray. A ray of light is the direction that light energy moves through a medium. It is represented by a line that is straight and has an arrow on it.

Rays of light always moves in a straight line. There are different types of rays of light like parallel, convergent and divergent rays that follow different properties like dispersion, diffraction, polarisation, etc.

Hope this information will help you

In physics, a light ray is an imaginary line that represents the direction in which light is traveling. Light rays are a fundamental concept in understanding the behavior of light and its interactions with matter. When light is emitted or reflected from a source, it travels in straight lines, called light rays, until it encounters an obstacle or is absorbed. The path of a light ray can be affected by various factors, such as reflection, refraction, diffraction, and absorption, which are all governed by the laws of optics. By tracing the path of light rays, physicists can study the properties of light and its behavior in different environments.

Hello,

The motion of waves of visible light is represented by imaginary lines called light rays. The wave's peaks and troughs attract these light rays at a 90-degree angle. Rays are known by many names, but the three most significant ones are incident, reflected, and refracted.
