Hazardous waste disposal done inappropriately has a negative impact on the environment and human health. When dealing with hazardous wastes, the standard methods of disposal, such as unhygienic open dumps, landfilling, discharge in waterways, or open-pit burning, will need to be modified. Contamination of groundwater and soil is the main risk associated with inappropriate garbage disposal. This is primarily caused by hazardous material that is dumped in landfills or on the ground.

There are at least five main ways that people could be exposed at sites where hazardous waste is disposed of:

  1. immediate consumption through drinking;
  2. inhalation of pollutants that volatilize from hot water;
  3. absorption through the skin while washing and taking a bath; and
  4. ingestion through the use of products made from plants or animals that were exposed to contaminated groundwater.

Dear,

Improper waste disposal is the disposal of waste in a way that has negative consequences for the environment. Examples include littering, hazardous waste that is dumped into the ground, and not recycling items that should be recycled. Long term usage and exposure of plastics and plastic products to high temperature can lead to leaching of toxic chemical constituents into food, drinks and water. Indiscriminate disposal of plastics on land and open air burning can lead to the release of toxic chemicals into the air causing public health hazards. Soil, water and air pollution can all be a result of improper waste disposal and occurs when either of them becomes contaminated with hazardous materials. Not only does this contribute to the creation of a greenhouse gas effects but also causes significant harm to marine and wildlife.

Hope this helps!
