Hi,

In the post independence period the agrarian classes can be described as follows - landlords and tenants : kulaks/rich peasants/middle peasants and Agricultural labourers, marginal and small farmers and footloose labour.
Landlords and tenants generally had existed before the implementation of land reforms in different states of India.
However they have not completely disappeared in every state.
In several parts of country , New classes emerged abolition of zamindari following implementation of land reforms , these classes came to be known as rich farmers , kulaks , or self cultivating middle farmers .
In the areas which have witnessed green revolution these classes got involved in cash crops . These areas also seen emergence of Agricultural labourers who work on the land of land owning classes. These land landholdings are not enough to meet their family needs.
Apart from working on their land they work on someone else's land. They are known as marginal or small farmers.
Apart from them there are  other social groups which are not involved in anything fixed. They do whatever is available to them .

Explanation:

India and Pakistan were partitioned and given independence in 1947, after which there was remarkable improvement in scientific and technological education and research; illiteracy, however, remained high. The new constitution adopted by India did not change the overall administrative policy of the country. Education continued to be the prime responsibility of the state governments, and the union (central) government continued to assume responsibility for the coordination of educational facilities and the maintenance of appropriate standards in higher education and research and in scientific and technical education.

Hope this helps.
