Hey,
Hope you are doing great.
The core elements of Liberal approach to study indian politics :
- Institutions : political system, not the state
The system consists of certain institutions or structures such as political parties, interest groups or civil organisations. They interact with savial structures such as caste, language, region, tribe etc.
- Processes
Among the processes which this approach studies are the functions which are performed by different institutions and organisations. These are conceptualised as political mobilisation, interest articulation and interest aggregation.
- Values
The third core element of liberal approach includes values i.e, liberty, human rights, and equalities. It is more about individual or community rights. It is the duty of states to provide protection to the vulnerable sections, ethics groups, scheduled tribes and minorities. Liberal approach advocates individual rights and freedom but it also advocates protection of communities, especially their languages, culture and scripts.
- Liberal approach to study politics
It is a varient of systemic or structural functional approach. Thus when liberal approach applied to indian politics can also be called systemic approach. System approach emerged out of a broad movement in social sciences known as behavioural movement.
