After searching about this college, i found that It is one of the university school of studies (USS) of GGSIPU. It is only the second college after IIT-Delhi to provide B.Tech in chemical engineering in Delhi/NCR regions (considering government colleges only). It has also started B.tech course in biochemical engineering from the past three years. So it is a college entirely dedicated to chemical engineering with a separate department for biochemical engineering ( as the name suggests :P)
Now coming to your question , honestly, in terms of placement , the college has absolutely average placements with 3–4 companies coming to campus each year and the college has 50–60% placements, though others get through off campus recruitments. Regarding the faculty here, some professors are really good and experienced while there are others who have absolutely no knowledge of what they teach. But having said that, it is you who has to slog through hours to pass exams and it totally depends on you and the professors are only there to help.
The college is not very strict about the attendance but there are some professors who give internal marks on the basis of attendance (you might lose on that if you do not attend classes regularly.)
The school has its own fest called “ Chemchord” and also participates in the university’s fest “ Anugoonj’. Regarding sports, you have a basketball court, cricket ground, badminton court, tennis court, swimming pool ( pool with no water :p) , lawn tennis court within the campus. There is no separate sports team of the college but students here get picked for the USS teams.
Having said all this, people would say the situation is far better now. Recently, 4–5 students of the current 4th year batch secured ranks within 500 in GATE.
The alumni are also well placed in reputed organisations.
