few differences between clayey soil and sandy soil.
Hello dear student,
The main difference between clay soils and sandy sandy soil is water retention capacity. Or key factor you can call us water permeability.
Sandy soils are highly permeable to water while clay soils have low water permeability.
While there are other differences too
- The particle size of clayey soil is higher in comparison to other one
- Particles are tightly packed in clayey soil while loosely packed in sandy soil
- Clayey soil can hold good amount of water while sandy is loose so it cannot
- Clayey soil is heavy in weight because of water retention capacity while sandy is lighter in weight
- Clayey soil is good for the growth of the crops while sandy is not suitable for this purpose.
I hope this was helpful to you
Thank you
