Correct Answer: 38.5 cm 2

Solution : Let the radius of the circle be $r$.
Circumference of a circle = 22 cm
⇒ $2\pi r = 22$
⇒ $2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r = 22$
⇒ $2r = 7$
⇒ $r = \frac{7}{2}\ \text{cm}$
Area of the circle $=\pi r^2=\frac{22}{7}\times\frac{7}{2}\times \frac{7}{2}=38.5\ \text{cm}^2$
Hence, the correct answer is 38.5 cm 2 .
