Asper your question, yes you would have to apply for the new EWS certificate. It is so because the EWS certificate is valid only for that year in which it is issued.

Yes, you should apply for a new ews certificate in advance. Because you will require it during counseling. The all india counseling for Mbbs / Bds seats all over India is expected to occur anytime soon in January.
As the ews certificate is valid for 1 year only. So you should apply it.
