As per your query.you want to know about the appropriate branch to give a gate .both mechanical and production branch has a same oppurtanity in psu.you have to score min500 rank in gate. iocl,ongc,bpcl or many mini ratna company offering a job after scoring a good rank in gate.

Both show a good response if you see the track record and both are capable to give good placement and if you compare to each other in that case in your place I choose production because they give good placement as well as they also get the good package and some good companies also come to the campus. A final decision on you because I think you choose that field which you think good for you.
