Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary science integrating biological sciences with engineering sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, mathematics, chemistry and physics. Biotechnology has applications in diverse fields such as medicine, agriculture, food technology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, blood products, artificial organs, nutraceuticals, energy, pollution control, environmental protection and waste management.

Eligibility
10 + 2 (PCM/ PCB); Lateral entry to 3rd Semester for Diploma holders in concerned or related subjects with minimum 55% marks.
Duration: 8 semesters
Basis of Admission: Through JEE/ AIPMT/ HPCET or any equivalent entrance test recognised by HP Government.

It's not mandatory to have maths in class 12 for biotechnology. More over it depends on criteria of colleges. But I would like to tell you that mathematics knowledge is important in biotechnology to understand major subjects in it.
