Hi dear,

In current scenario there is saturation in the cities for BDS graduates but plenty of jobs for Mbbs graduates.Dentists are slowly moving away from the metro cities to tap in the patients.

Intial investment to set up a clinic is very high for a dentist as the equipments are costly. Government vacancy for BDS are less as compared to Mbbs.

It take less time to complete undergraduate degree in Dental Surgery than MBBS as the BDS course duration is 5 years where as the MBBS course duration is 5 and a half years. Students get their BDS Degree much earlier than MBBS Degree.

Dentists have no or less emergency calls as tooth related diseases or infections are not life threatening.

However both are equally good with lot of opportunities. If your passionate about either of them then choose accordingly. It's a long journey of 5.5 years so choose wisely.

Hope this helps
