Both online and pen paper exam Of JEE MAIN has equal difficulty level. The following are the advantages and disadvantages.
Disadvantage of JEE Mains Online Mode:
Technical glitches : These can occur anywhere and at most abrupt of times, especially in smaller towns with lesser technical expertise. If you feel that the facilities are not sufficient, you might want to sit this one out.
Question Paper is not given to students for further reference.
Advantage of JEE Mains Offline Mode:

But online mode of exam is gaining popularity lately, question can be marked for review and answers can be viewed any time and since the answers need to be marked on the compute rather than darkening the circles which makes it less time consuming.
