Dear Aysha, Biology is a theoretical subject and that acts in your favour unlike in Physics or Chemistry you have to memorise formulae. Reading NCERT should be enough to secure you good marks. If appearing for NEET is in your plans, you may have to study a few additional books. Always draw a diagram and learn parallely from it. That way you will remember everything. Prepare flashcards to memorise definitions and diagrams. Understand the basics and also concentrate on the basic difference between varipus types of  fungi, virus, bacteira etc. Create flow charts for easy understanding. Read various types of infections and structure of immunoglobins and their classes.

We have few strict Yes's and No's for you:

  • Write in points wise and not in paragraphs
  • Always draw a diagram whenever required
  • Try completing the exam atleast 15 mins before your scheduled time so that you can check what you have written
  • Spare atleast 5-10 minutes to read and understand the question paper and strategise how to frame your answers
  • Label your diagrams to the right
  • Give examples of types, patterns, flora and fauna wherever required
  • Write according to the marks allotted
  • Do not jump in between the sections. Write in the order of questions asked

In  NEET, Biology is the biggest section in NEET, comprising about half of the exam, and acing this subject can help you in scoring more in the exam. Human Physiology and Genetics have maximum weightage in NEET. It is advisable to practise questions of Genetics from previous year question papers, which will give you a thorough understanding of how the questions are being asked. Topics of Plant and Animal kingdom have a lot of portion to memorize. You can prepare these topics by making a comparative table for the sub-topics and studying it together. Plant physiology is also equally important and easy to score. For more tips, please visit our page at:

hey dear, first of all wash this out from your mind that any subject is tough, this is just a myth that so and so subjects are tough.Yes , you would easily clear 12th board exam if you consistently keep in touch with your study and yes i know biology needs to be cramped a lot but dont worry about that just make habbit of making charts for better understanding and to some extent learn a bit of cramping also ,it helps many a times.
