For Mechanical engineering, VIT, Chennai or VIT, Vellore, o which one is better?
The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc specialization.
The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.
For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)
The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics.
He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering.
The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.
VIT vellore is good for Computer Sciences Engineering but lot of people don't know that Mechanical is also a very old branch of VIT vellore and has great placement records.
If we talk about which one is better between VIT Vellore and Chennai then it has to be VIT vellore in all aspects whether its placement, infrastructure, opportunities, workshops etc.
I hope this helps.
