From this year maths will be compulsory in best of 4 for ba eco hons, will this effect the cut off for the year for ba hons eco?
inclusion of maths in best of four for eco hons is a good decision ...since eco is maths driven...infact a candidate who has done well in maths should be preferred..earlier candidiate will less marks in maths ( but good in other subjects had a benefit).....so why discredit / give disadvantage to a child who is good is maths...
Hey Priyanshu,
For economic hons you need to include Mathematics as one of your best four subject even if you score less marks in it.
This action has been taken as Eco (Hons) being a majorly maths driven course, mandatory inclusion of Maths in Best of Four will ensure a better quality of students at Delhi University.
This action does not ensures the decrease in cutoffs, the University may or may not decrease it. Cut offs are decided according to marks scored by the students in their boards and number of students applying for the admission in DU. No body can predict the cutoffs of different colleges beforehand. So you have to wait and relax for few days until the cutoffs are out.
Hope this works for you.
Good luck!
Hello Priyanshu,
The answer for this question is yes because mathematics is considered a very difficult subject and therefore it will obviously affect the overall cut-off but since it is the competition for University of Delhi and here comes best of best so even though the cut-off can fall but it won't go down so much that less percentage will get admission easily.
Hope I was able to answer your query and hope you do well in future.
