Hello,

Its likely that it will start from 2017 batch mbbs students.
It will occur in 2 phases i.e NEXT1 and NEXT2.
Next 1 will be taken for getting license to pursue internship and will be taken by students after passing final year professional exams.
while NEXT 2 will be taken after completion of 1 year internship for admissions to PG courses.(NO NEET PG WILL BE HELD)

The NEXT exam is said to be based on more clinical knowledge based on 3rd and 4th year medical subjects.

However No confirmatory notification has come yet regarding helding NEXT exam for mbbs graduates.

Hope this helps
