Hello aspirant,

Getting good scores on the GPAT is not easy. To succeed on this admission exam, a solid preparation strategy was necessary. It is recommended that all candidates begin preparing for GPAT 2024 at least two to three months prior to the exam. However, there is no set time that can be suggested for the preparation.

It is s a good idea to start preparing for GPAT as early as possible, ideally during your final year of B.Pharm, as it is a competitive exam and early preparation allows you to thoroughly cover the syllabus, practice mock tests, and identify areas needing improvement, significantly increasing your chances of a good score and admission to a desired M.Pharm program.

GPAT has a high level of competition due to limited seats in top pharmacy colleges, so early preparation is crucial.

If you want to start early then with ample time, you can practice solving previous year papers and mock tests to get familiar with the exam format and improve your time management.

Hello,

You should, in fact, begin making preparations for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) during your third year of pharmacy college. Here's why and how you should plan:

Syllabus Understanding:

Since the GPAT syllabus will coincide with your B. Pharm curriculum, you will see subjects like Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacognosy. You will have good understanding of most of the above subjects by the time you reach the third year.

Why to Start Early:

  • Major core subjects, important for GPAT, will be covered during the third year.
  • Getting ready early helps to revise perfectly and attempt mock tests without any last-minute pressure.

Preparation Strategy:

  • Set 1-2 hours aside daily for GPAT-related subjects along with your regular academic work.
  • Refer to standard textbooks such as KD Tripathi for Pharmacology and CIMS for Medicinal Chemistry.
  • Solve previous years question papers and attempt mock tests to get familiar with the examination pattern and time management.

This approach gives you enough preparation time and ensures you're ready by the final year.
