Hi Abdul,
Ganga Ram Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GRIPMER) has completed one year. To celebrate its first year of existence and release its first report, the institute is organising the second GRIPMER Oration, which will be delivered by Arun Shourie, a noted journalist and former union minster, here on Tuesday. He will speak on the topic Serving others as a cure for oneself.
Dr D S Rana, chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), said, GRIPMER was constituted to further coordinate and stimulate academics and research activities of the hospital. I am happy to note that in the last one year 283 research papers have been published, out of which 85 are in indexed journals. Also, presently, there are 45 research projects which are being funded by ICMR, Department of Biotechnology, WHO, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environment, Government of India, and many others.
Dr Samiran Nundy, dean, GRIPMER, said, SGRH has been running the countrys largest postgraduate training programme, DNB (Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations) in 17 broad and 13 super specialities. It also publishes the Ganga Ram Journal, every two months, which contains original and review articles besides other sections, contributed from within and outside the hospital.
Dr N K Ganguli, chairperson, department of research, SGRH, said, This year GRIPMER has awarded faculty designations to members of the faculty who qualified, (as per the MCI guidelines) to 54 as professors, 38 as associate professors and 34 as assistant professors.
