Pharm.D or Doctor of Pharmacy is a six-year doctorate course in pharmacy. Among six years, five years consist of learning and one year of internship. It is the only doctorate course that can be pursued after completing class 12. In some countries, one must good a Pharma.D degree to get the license to practice D pharmacy or to become a clinical pharmacist. Pharm.D course is different from B. Pharm. Pharm.D is a more comprehensive course on pharma. It focuses on clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, health care, as well as pharmacy practice. This course was officially introduced in India in May 2008.
