Hello,

  1. Red Blood Cells : Their small, biconcave shape increases surface area, allowing efficient oxygen transport throughout the body.

  2. Nerve Cells (Neurons) : Long and thin with extended axons, they facilitate fast signal transmission across distances in the body.

  3. Muscle Cells : Elongated and fibrous, enabling contraction and relaxation, which aids in movement and support.

Each cell’s size and shape are specialized to optimize its specific function.

Hope this helps you,

Thank you

Hello,

Here are 3 examples of cells whose function is reflected in their size and shape:

1. Nerve Cells (Neurons): Long, thin, and elongated shape, allowing for efficient transmission of electrical signals over long distances.

2. Red Blood Cells (Erythrocytes): Disk-shaped with a concave curve, increasing surface area for oxygen exchange and facilitating flexible movement through narrow blood vessels.

3. Muscle Cells (Muscle Fibers): Elongated, multinucleated, and striated, enabling powerful contraction and relaxation for movement and locomotion.

Hope this helps,

Thank you

Red Blood Cells: These come in the shape of a tiny little disc. That disc shape gives them an enormous surface area that allows them to take oxygen from your lungs and release it throughout your tissues. Furthermore, their flexible shape makes them very squeezable through your tiny blood vessels.

Nerve Cells (Neurons): These cells are long and stringy, not unlike electrical wires. The long thread-like parts allow them to send messages (nerve impulses) superefficiently over long distances.

Muscle Cells: Muscle cells are long and tube-shaped. This shape lets them contract and relax-thereby allowing your muscles to move you.
