- KVPY is a national level scholarship examination conducted by IISc Bangalore this year on November 3.
- The purpose of exam is to provide fellowships to students for pursuing research in Science

KVPY is an acronym of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana. This scholarship is for students who are interested in Basic Science and Research Career in Science. KVPY scholarship is offered on the basis of an exam followed by an interview. Students who are selected under KVPY scholarship are called as KVPY Fellows.Scholarship and Benefits to KVPY Fellows:If you selected as KVPY Fellow, you will get Rs. 60,000 + Rs. 20,000 per year during your graduation.For 4th and 5th year, you will get around Rs. 84,000 + Rs. 28,000 per year.You can get Direct admission to the top institutes like IISc and IISERsGet an Identity card to Access to National Laboratories/ UniversitiesAttend Vijyoshi Camp and meet researches, scientists and great scholars.Participation in Summer Programme to get lectures by experts and learn in a research environment.Some Important KVPY Stats:Around 2-3 Lakh Students appear for KVPY 2018Only 3000 to 4000 are selected for the Interview round.Only 70% candidates called for the interview get selected for KVPY Scholarship.KVPY Result - KVPY Aptitude Test (75% weightage) + Personal Interview (25% weightage)
