Hii Glucose on prolonged heating with Hydroiodic Acid ( HI ) results in the formation of n-hexane in presence of Red Phosphorus. The formation of n-hexane indicates that all the six carbon atoms present in glucose are linked in a straight chain. Hope this helps Thanks!
