GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) was established by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation. It offers aspiring engineers high quality technical education and is accredited 'A' Grade by NAAC. GMR has a specialised Computer Science(CS) Department that exposes students to a various range of subjects involving advanced computer engineering and its application in industry. The curriculum majorly focuses on industry academia interaction and to the current needs and trends in the global software industry. Annual intake of the CSE department is 180 students. The department has E-learning content comprises 628 VCDs for various subjects. The students have worked on various Projects such as-

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established with an intake of 60 students in the UG Programme. The intake was enhanced to 120 in 2010. The Department has highly qualified and experienced faculty. There are five Doctorates in the Department. The Department has good infrastructure and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories.
