General Nursing and Midwifery
The diploma in this course is geared to the health needs of the individual family, community and country at large.
Aim of the Diploma:
1. To prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing to enable them function as efficient member of the health team.
2. To help nurses in their personal and professional development, so that they are able to make maximum contribution to the society as useful and productive individuals, citizens as well as efficient nurses.
3. To prepare nurses to keep pace with latest professional and technological developments and use these for providing nursing care services.
4. To help nurses develop an ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health and rehabilitation of sick.
5. To serve as a base for further professional education and specialization in nursing.
Objectives of the Diploma
1. Demonstrate competency in providing health care to individual, sick or well using the nursing process.
2. Provide effective nursing care for maintaining best possible level of health.
3. Plan and carryout effective action to meet the nursing needs.
4. Assess the nursing needs of clients from birth to death.
5. Apply problem solving techniques in nursing process.
Duration: Duration of the course can be 3 years or 6 months including internship.
Vacation: 30 days vacation shall be given each year.
Course Fees: INR 1, 10, 000 per year.
