Nimisha with 71 percentage in 12th boards you will neither be qualified for the counselling in JEE Advanced nor in JEE mains exam because the minimum percentage required for JEE Main is 75% and you need to be qualified in JEE Mains to be a part of JEE Advance process.

But you can check out one thing that whether with your 71% you are in top 20 percentile of your board or not. If you are in top 20 percentile of the students who gave 12th class exam with you this year in your board then irrespective of percentage you will be qualified for further processing.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!

As for the general category the minimum board percentage required for IIT is 75% so you are not eligible for it.
