Got score 50 in SNAP. what are the chances? And it is showing 56 percentile for the above score. how can it be too low for that score?
Hi Nithin,
First thing first, I don’t want to create a rosy picture in-front of you but getting a good Symbiosis college at this percentile will be very difficult. I hope it’s your first attempt. So don’t lose hope. I will list down some of the symbiosis colleges from which you may get a call:
- Symbiosis Institute of Health Science(SIHS)
- Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication(SIMC)
- Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management(SITM)
- Symbiosis Institute of Computer Science and Research(SICSR)
- Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance(SSBF)
However, receiving calls from SIBM(Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad campus), SIOM(Nashik), SCIT,SIIB and SCMHRD would not be possible.
Now coming to your second query. Percentile and score does not remain same throughout every year of SNAP exam. It varies greatly with the difficulty of the questions and the number of test takers across the country. When I had appeared for SNAP in 2017, with a consolidated score of 55, my percentile was 98.2134 to be precise because the highest(that is 100 percentile) was somewhat around 70-75 marks .While for some other year, the 100 percentile was somewhat around 85-95 marks. So, it all depends on the questions that are set for that year.
Now, with your percentile, the probable course of action is either you retake SNAP next year because when you get to know the pattern, your percentile is bound to improve unless some unforeseen circumstances happen. You can also take admission in one of the above mentioned colleges but to be frank, placements won’t be that good, if a hefty salary package is what motivated you to pursue MBA. Placements would be around 5-6 lakhs per annum and you have to be in the top quartile of the batch for sure.
I hope I have been able to solve your query. All the best!!!
Hello Nithin
The cutoff for SNAP is around 100+ for unreserved category , and unfortunately you have a score of 50 which means low percentile and below cutoff marks, you have to score good in next exam to get a call, as below 80 percentile there are almost no chances, you can try for alternative colleges which can take admission on the basis of merit list or you can prepare for next exam.
Don't lose hope, go for best.
Best of luck
