Government and psu job for ece students... And gate is the only way for them...???

no gate is not necessary to get into psu. only those jobs in whose notifiaction they give us wlike recrutement through gate will give us job through gate. evert year some govt jobs recute through gate some takes their own objectives , conventional exam or or personal interview for selection of candidates .

many psu like ,ONGC , IOCL, NTPC, BPCL, HPCL ,POWER GRID , SAIL, EXIL takes through gate.

many exam like DRDO,NPCIL,INSTITUTE OF PLASMA RESEARCH SELECT STUDENTS  for interview through gate score and final selection is only based on interview marks.

engineering services exam is having its own pre, mains and interview for selecting the candidates.

many state takes their own state psc for assistant engineer or sdo post.

so the fact is if some one has good score in gate then he has lots of opportunity for having a good job in psu .but if some one is not having a good gate score or want to have some state jobs or in post like assistant executive engineer through ese have many other paths.

so keep going world is not going to stop if there is no gate there are other paths which bring you great opportunities.

No. Gate is not the only way to get a job in PSU's since some the organizations conduct their own examination. But, around 90 percent of jobs are alloted through gate. These are the companies hiring ECE graduates-

Bharat Electronics Limited(Through G.A.T.E)
ONGC(Through G.A.T.E)
H.A.L(Hindustan Aeronautics Limited). (Through G.A.T.E)
S.A.I.L(Steel Authority Of India Limited). (Conducts its own paper)

There are a number of opportunities for ece branch students other than PSU . The best thing for which you can prepare is forINDIANENGINEERING SERVICESexam which is India 's most prestigious pure government sector exam but it requires a lot of hard work and dedication . This is much better than a job in PSU as you can see many engineers who are already working in any PSU are preparing for IES exam and once cleared they leave the job of PSU .

Secondly , another very prestigious exam and pure governmental in nature is conducted byINDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATIONfor the post ofSCIENTISTS .You can prepare for it . Its question standard is somewhat of GATE level .

Another exam which you can give is written online exam ofBARC.This exam is conducted every year and its level is little below GATE and with rigorous practice of questions you can easily clear it as this exam requires speed with accuracy . The selected candidates will further have to face interview .

And apart from these exams there are many other exams likeNIELIT,DMRC, which conduct their exams almost every year . Apart from these many PSU s like IRCON , DFCCIL ,CIL and electricity departments likeJUVNL , UPPCLetc conduct their own exams for the post of assistant engineer electronics every year or with a gap of one .
