The Gujarat Law Society (GLS) formed GLS University as a state private university in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, under the Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2015. GLS University provides a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes.

Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Application & IT, Design, Computer Technology, and Doctoral Research & Innovation are among the university's seven departments. GLS has given the University the "Gold Star Award" for Excellence in Education by Indian Achievers Form, Bangkok.
