Hi,
Indian navy is offering a wide range of opportunities for women. The posts available are ATC, Observer, Law, Logistics, Education, Naval Architecture, Pilot (Maritime Reconnaissance Stream only), and Naval Armament Inspectorate(NAI). Among these, for all the provisions except education and law, BE/B tech degree is mandatory. So, if you are a naval aspirant, make sure that you choose B tech as your higher degree.
Choosing a branch must be a wise decision. Mechanical engineering is the only branch that can make you eligible for all the naval jobs. But, if there is no right aptitude, mechanical engineering is not suitable for women as it involves so much physical exertion. Electronics and Electrical engineering are the best branches you can seek for. They are more easily available as a course and have a lot of job opportunities. But, if you are choosing electrical or electronics engineering you can’t apply to the post of naval architecture. If you have specific interests in architecture, go for civil engineering. Also, understand your desire and aptitude nothing can cope with that.
As a conclusion, the steps you must follow are:
Go to the official website of the Indian Navy and identify job opportunities
Identify the job best suited for you
Choose the branch of engineering that suits your ideal job
Hope this was helpful.
All the best!
