Well thats somewhat like asking what is best- acting or becoming a sportsperson. While the decision is completely subjective and entirely depends upon the person’s specific interests and talents, I would say, being an ECE student myself, that if one is in a great dilemma with no particular interests or talents in either branch, one should choose ECE simply on the virtue of the fact that it gets you more scope to get placed in a lot of companies spread across the industry. Also keep in mind that if you would like to avoid coding, as a lot of students are sceptical about it, go for Mechanical without any second thought. But Mechanical comes with its own demons to slay… You ll basically spend an entire life doing Engineering Drawing which requires extreme patience and neat handwork. Also please keep in mind that it is very different from drawing as an art , and as such theres no given that one who can draw well is good at engineering drawing. Patience is the greatest virtue for to-be Mechanical Engineers. Hope you make the best decision for yourself and all the best!!!

Nowadays there is an increased demand for IT professionals and electrical engineers. The manufacturing and other production industries are running slower due to economic reforms and other competitions.Mechanical engineers as of 2017, is surplus as universities and colleges provides 2 batches rather than a single batch of other departments.

My suggestion will be do what is more in you! where you wanna be in the future so that you don’t regret the decision you take now.

The fact to be considered is that there is a heavy competition in engineering side as there are lakhs of engineers passing out every year, companies hire fresh candidates at a low salary.

That is how cunning the industries are!

Make your own decision with an open mind and never regret!
