BSC critical care technology is a three years undergraduate program. Critical care technologist has a variety of roles to play and they work in different healthcare settings. They take care of the equipment and the monitoring devices that are used by patients requiring intensive care or are in a critical condition. They ensure that the equipment and the life support system attached to a critical care patient are all functioning correctly. The basic eligibility for the course is 10+2 or an equivalent qualification in the field of science. Students Should have studied chemistry, biology and physics in their 10+2 education with at least 50% marks in aggregate.On finishing this course you are easily placed in the critical care industry. You work in hospitals in ICUs, emergency rooms, trauma centres and similar healthcare settings requiring emergency and critical care. Hospitals working in both the private and public sector will be in need of your services. Other places to look for employment are government hospitals, military hospitals, railway hospitals and so on. You can undertake a post graduate program like M.Sc in critical care technology. You may also get to do research work in the field by opting for a doctoral program.
