Dear student,

Heat is transferred by direct contact of bodies or substances in conduction.

Conduction means - the transfer of heat between bodies that are in direct contact with each other.

When a substance is heated, the particles will gain more energy, and vibrate more. These molecules collide with other particles and transfer some of their energy to them, by conduction.
