height of right circular cone is increased by 10% and radius of its base is increased by 20% find the change in its volume
Hello,
The volume of the right circular cone is V= (1/3)*Pi*r^2*h
The new increased height of the cone can be written as (120/100)*h
The new increased based radius of the cone can be written as (110/100)*r
Now the new volume is= (1/3)*Pi*(1.1r)^2*(1.2h) = 1.452*((Pi*r^2*h)/3) which is also equal to 1.452*V
So the change in volume is ((1.452*100)-100)= 145.2-100= 45.2%
