- Bits Pilani is comparable to the old IITs, i.e. Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Roorkee and Kanpur. If you have a choice between the same branch at one of these IITs and BITS, go for an IIT.
- If you are getting a lower branch at one of the above mentioned IITs, and a higher branch i.e. Computer Science/Electrical at BITS, and are genuinely interested in these, go for BITS
- If you have no branch preferences, you should definitely pick IIT over BITS.
- The newer IITs including Indore, Hyderabad, BHU are also very good, and should be considered.
- The reason being, IIT is a bigger brand than BITS. There will be more internship/job opportunities, great startup culture, and you would have an advantage while applying to foreign institutes for higher education.
