Hello aspirant,

i hope that you are doing absolutely great.

With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that yes, you can definitely do Btech in Biotechnology or you can also pursue BSc in Biotechnology.

Biotechnology is a field which contains an amalgamation of many streams, namely mathematics, chemistry, biology and technology. It involves knowledge drawn through multiple disciplines. Cellular and biomolecular processes are used for creating product solutions which can solve our problems and make lives better. There are applications of Biotechnology in various areas of our lives. It includes healthcare, pharmacy, food production, animal husbandry, agriculture, textiles, nutrition and many more.

Further, if you want to know for eligibility criteria for Btech in Biotechnology and Bsc in Biotechnology, then it is described below :

For bsc in Biotechnology :

Students applying for this course should have a 10+2 qualification in the science stream, completed from a recognised educational board.

For Btech in Biotechnology :

The students applying for this course must have qualified the 10+2 examination under science stream and have subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in their course curriculum from a recognised board.

further, below are the list of entrance exams that you can give to get admission in Biotechnology course :

For Bsc Biotechnology :

- AIIMS Biotechnology Entrance Test

- GAT-B - The exam was earlier conducted by JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) as a Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination

- DU (University of Delhi) Biotechnology Entrance Examination.

For Btech Biotechnology :

- JEE Main: A screening test for JEE Advanced. It is a compulsory requirement for most college admissions.

- JEE Advanced: This has to be given after clearing JEE Main. Primarily for admissions to IITs

- COMEDK UGET: Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test, for colleges in the state of Karnataka.

- SRMJEEE : For admission process of SRM institute of technology

- BITSAT : For admission to different campuses of Birla Institute of Technology and Science

- VITEEE : For admission to Vellore institute of technology.

Hello

Yes, you can do definitely B tech biotechnology even if you are a Biology student and you don't have math

But yes ,

Not all the college offers B tech biotechnology to Biology students.

For example,

NITs offer btech biotechnology, like NIT Calicut NIT Durgapur etc but you cannot get admission for B tech biotechnology in NITs as they offer admission through jee Main and it is compulsory to have studied mathematics in 10 + 2 to be eligible for JEE Mains. So, you cannot get admission in any Engineering College even for Biotechnology which provides admission through only JEE mains as to be eligible for JEE main it is mandatory to have  studied maths.

Colleges like VIT offers B tech biotechnology to Biology students.

For example,

To be eligible  VITEEE exam for btech biotechnology , one needs an aggregate of at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in 12th board exam or 50 % in aggregate of physics chemistry maths/ biology is belongs to SC or St category

So, both Math and Biology students are eligible for B tech biotechnology in VIT .So being a Biology student you can pursue BTech biotechnology in VIT

Coming to bsc biochemistry,

Yes, with PCB you are definitely eligible for BSC biochemistry hons

For example,
To be eligible for BSC Biochemistry hons in Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, one needs at least 55% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics and English.
So, students with any of biology or maths are eligible.
