hello. I am in grade 11. currently I'm going to write C.E.T. and i want to go for JEE too to get into astronomy. I was wondering the rank or the marks I would need in JEE to get into an astronomy field, or a physics field.
-
JEE Focus: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) focuses on engineering and technology entrance exams. There's no direct astronomy program through JEE.
-
Path to Astronomy: However, a strong foundation in Physics and Mathematics, tested extensively in JEE, is crucial for pursuing astronomy. Scoring well in JEE can get you into good colleges for Physics (BSc or BS) programs, which are the stepping stones for an astronomy career.
JEE has two levels: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Scoring well in both is important for prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
EE has two levels: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Scoring well in both is important for prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
After scoring well in JEE Main, you can target colleges offering a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics. After a strong BSc Physics degree, you can pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Astrophysics, which directly deals with astronomy and space sciences.
It's difficult to predict exact marks or ranks for astronomy because there's no direct astronomy program through JEE. However, aiming for a good rank in JEE Main (ideally within the top few thousand) increases your chances of getting into a top-ranked physics program at a reputed college.

I hope it helps!
