Hey,
Every IIM has different set of criteria for selection of the candidates. You need to be either exceptionally great in your academics or you need to be just that well in your extracurricular activities. But ultimate game changer is the CAT score.
Even if you your academic profile is not great,if you score above 97 percentile, you are likely to get a call from IIMs.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Dear Aashna, your Academic scores have been really good. You havent mentioned your Category. Neverthless, IM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately having their own weightage for Academic section, Work experience, Diversity factor, etc.

The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.

IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions

But other Top B Schools and Other Participating Institutions release their cut offs post the declaration of CAT scores. But in general, the approximate cut offs are as follows:

FMS, Delhi needs 95 percentile.

IIM Shillong: 92 percentile

NITIE Mumbai: 91 percentile

IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Tiruchirapalli, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, XIM Bhubaneshwar and New IIMS need 90 percentile.

So if you can really score 98 percentile, you have a decent shot at the IIMs.

Hey,

If you're hoping to get 98 percentile then you're likely to get the top iims for sure. The minimum cat percentile required to get a call from iim is 90 percentile or even lesser sometimes. Also the top three iims a, b, c being iim Ahmedabad,  iim Bangalore and iim Calcutta also consider other factors such as your 10th and 12th score(90+) and your graduation as well (75+)  apart  from your cat score. So work hard and hope for best you'll definitely get one!

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Well you may get call form low IIMs but the good new is that you will get the call.Though this not means that you might get admission in one of them.I am worried because your past academics are not much impressive though they are good but IIMs low for best and that what make the difference because there are lot of aspirants who can score a good percentile but not much make it to the IIMs

I hope this helps.
